dan brown in court

yesterday, dan brown appeared before the high court in london. richard leigh and michael baigent, two of the authors of the 1982 the holy blood and the holy grail, claim brown's the da vinci code is based on their non-fictional work. they are suing random house, who actually published both books.
if a judge buys these boys' story, the film version of the da vinci code, directed by ron howard, may be delayed.
or is this just a media stunt from brown's marketing consultant to get some extra attention for the release of the film?
anyway, verdict in about two weeks.

kate moss and charlize theron are a couple

gay love stories. ang lee can't get enough of them. the south african sunday times reports ang lee, director of the gay western brokeback mountain, is preparing a film about a lesbian couple. charlize theron plays singer dusty springfield, while kate moss would play her lover. for moss, it will be her debut as an actress (unless of course you count in her pole dancing performance in the white stripes videoclip i just don't know what to do with myself.) seems like everything's going fine since she stopped being a drug rehab residential.

nick cave wrote gladiator II

recently the proposition was released, a brutal australian western, written by nick cave and directed by john hillcoat.
apparently, cave wrote another script three years ago: for gladiator II, on russell crowe's request. cave says he enjoyed writing the script, but crowe and director ridley scott found it completely unacceptable and went scriptshopping somewhere else. what a shame.

apart from writing the script for the proposition, cave also wrote the soundtrack. this isn't cave's first encounter with film music. he also wrote music for to have and to hold, jonas in the desert and, more recently, the love & murder tv series.
