rock werchter: best festival on earth

for the second time in three years, the belgian rock festival rock werchter wins the ilmc arthur award for best festival. more than 2500 music professionals from around the world voted for the awards. other winners this year were ahoy in holland for best venue and u2 for best tour.
rock werchter originally started in 1974 as torhout-werchter, a one-day double-festival in the two belgian cities torhout and werchter. today the four-day festival only takes place in werchter. on the bill this year you'll find: red hot chili peppers, the who, mogwai, deus, placebo, sigur ros, absynthe minded, and many more. date: june 29th till july 2nd.
